Here is today’s lesson from our weekly Ruth’s Chris Bible Study. We begin the longest chapter in Genesis this week. Abraham’s life is nearing its conclusion and he’s concerned to find a wife for his nearly-40-year-old heir, Isaac (which makes me not feel so bad still being single at 35, come to think of it!).
Abraham doesn’t want Isaac marrying into Canaanite culture, but he also doesn’t want Isaac to leave the land of promise. So he sends his most trusted servant to play ancient Near East cupid…
