Back from India!

So…after 40 hrs of travel from Bhubanshwar, Odisha, India, (including LONG layovers in Delhi, Paris and Atlanta) I arrived home late Friday night exhausted, humbled, and thankful to my church, Good Shepherd United Methodist, for sending me to India for the past 2 weeks.

As Good Shepherd continues to partner with our friends in Odisha, Disciple Dojo will also be involved to whatever degree we are able. The need for teaching and equipping resources among the pastors and ministry leaders there is HUGE!

We often take for granted things like Christian bookstores, Amazon.com and access to commentaries, teaching DVDs, Christian conferences and sermon podcasts by our favorite celebrity preachers. Yet these are almost entirely unavailable among those on the front lines of ministry in the most populated country on earth!

I hope to help change that somehow. I don’t know exactly what that will look like in the future, though I hope it will involve more teaching trips back there and more resources from Disciple Dojo that can be filmed & translated into the Oriya language for use by the Churches in Odisha.

God allowed me to travel there and for my faith to be stretched, tested, and reinforced through time spent with fellow Disciples on the other side of the world. For that I am grateful indeed.

Here are some pictures from the trip. You can click on each for a short description. You can also see more in my Facebook album.

In my next post I will share some of my personal reflections from the trip.

Stay tuned…
