Amos five 11
This painting was inspired by my work with YWAM and children in the Philippines, and was part of my senior exit exhibit at UGA. The text within it is Amos 5:11 – “You trample on the poor and force him to give you grain. Therefore, though you have built stone mansions, you will not live in them…” The child is based on a photograph I took of a group of children in a garbage slum village. Such children are a reminder that the message of the Prophets is as fresh and needed today as it was in their time. The piece comes strip-framed and measures approx. 2.75′ x 2′ x 1.5″
