New article series: Christian urban legends!

Hey Dojo readers,

I wanted to give those of you who are not subscribed to my Examiner articles a heads up about the latest series I’m doing called “Christian Urban Legends.”

Each week I’ve been taking a look at various things many people–both Christians and nonChristians–believe about God, the Bible, theology, etc. which are not actually taught in Scripture. Various stories and interpretations of Biblical ideas have crept into the cultural psyche over the centuries, to the point of being uncritically accepted by even the most faithful and sincere followers of Jesus.

However, not everything that we hear from the pulpit or read in an article (especially online!) is to be accepted at face value…including anything I write!

Instead, we should seek to maintain a healthy degree of skepticism, but without becoming cynical, smug or divisive in our communication with others, particularly within the Body of Christ.

So take a look at the first three posts in this series and feel free to leave your comments, questions, criticisms or anything else you’d like to share in response.

And since I get paid by Examiner based on how much traffic my articles generate, I would be very grateful if you’d subscribe, share them with friends and family (without spamming people, of course!) and encourage them to do likewise!

Blessings from the Dojo,

JM
