Dojo Discussion: Gay wedding cakes, discrimination and religious freedom

Dojo Discussion: Gay wedding cakes, discrimination and religious freedom

“I’m not saying it is the perfect solution by any means. But I feel like if recognized, it could go a long way in establishing legislation that the vast majority of thoughtful voters could be more comfortable with than the current zero-sum game being played by activists on both sides of the socio-political divide.”

To those condemning Steven Furtick (as well as those defending him)

“There has been a good bit of conversation on social media in the wake of this story and I have been asked by friends what we are to make of it. So I wanted to comment in a way that I believe does justice to why Disciple Dojo exists in the first place–to CHALLENGE us all in our presuppositions and conclusions…but in a way that honors our Lord and Master.”

Matthew Shepard, McDonald’s coffee millions and Media urban legends

“But it always astounds me how pervasive the tendency to obscure or twist facts seems to be in the age when a quick search on Google or Snopes.com can verify claims in minutes. …Remember the woman who supposedly sued McDonald’s for millions–and won!–after she spilled hot coffee in her lap while driving? Gay wedding cakes and religious freedom

Gay wedding cakes and religious freedom

“But I remember the words my Mom said to us as we were getting ready for school that day: “You may encounter some very angry people today. But remember, they have every right to be.”
