ORIGINAL art for charities…Take a look!

Hi Dojo readers,

I wanted to share some of the pieces I have for sale from my “Art of the Dojo” page, all of which I’m donating HALF of the proceeds from to various charity organizations.

For example, I do many portraits and usually donate half of the proceeds from the sale of the original to International Justice Mission.

Some of the subjects are MMA fighters, some are models, some are just friends who I thought would make a great portrait drawing! Here they are below along with the special Summer prices I’m offering through August!

“Anna” – Prismacolor on paper (8.5×11)  $200 $175

“Marloes” – Prismacolor on paper (8.5×11)  $250 $200

“Julie” – Prismacolor on paper (8.5×11)  $250 $200

“Michelle” – Prismacolor on paper (approx. 8×10)  $150 $125

“Kate” – Prismacolor on paper (approx. 8×10)  $200 $175

It’s not all ladies though! Some of my MMA portraits also go toward helping the fight against human trafficking via IJM as well!

“El Guapo” – Prismacolor on paper (8.5×11)  $250 $200

“Big Country” – Prismacolor on paper (8.5×11)  $250 $200

After the massive devastation suffered by Japan earlier this year, I’ve dedicated half the proceeds from my work featuring Japanese fighters as well as Japanese themes to Tsunami relief efforts via UMCOR (a charity that ensures 100% of all funds donated goes directly to aid on the ground rather than any bureaucratic red tape!)…

“One who serves” Prismacolor on paper (Approx. 15×18) – $500 $450

“Kami of the rainbow” mixed media, tissue, watercolor, pencil (Approx. 10×12) – $250 $200

“Genki” – Prismacolor on paper (8.5×11)  $250 $200

“Saku” – Prismacolor on paper (8.5×11)  $250 $200

Some of my pieces go toward other charities such as the World Race, which is currently sending my friend below, Beka, to over 11 different countries this year to serve doing everything from construction projects, teaching in rural schools and orphanages and helping organizations that work to empower women with skills needed to make a living away from brothels and red-light districts!

“Beka” – Prismacolor on paper (8.5×11)  $250 $200

I also support local organizations with some of my work. The piece bellow was painted by myself live on stage during a CharlotteONE: gathering a few years ago. The message was on the implications Jesus’ death had for restoring what was lost through the Fall and will be totally restored at the New Creation (you can listen to the series, taught by me the first week, David Hickman the second week, and me again on the final week, over at C1’s iTunes page if you’re interested). I painted this piece in about an hour, finishing as the final song played…

“Redemption” – Oil on canvas (Approx. 3ftx4ft) $600 $550

And for those looking for larger, non-portrait paintings, the following are available, again with half the proceeds going to IJM:

“Shanna’s Masks” – Watercolor (approx. 18×24) $350 $300

“It is for freedom…” – Watercolor (approx. 24×36 including custom plexiglass frame) $500 $450

“The Stone Table (aka. the Face of God)” – Oil on canvas, strip framed (approx. 36×36) $600 $550

“Psalm 61” – Oil on canvas, custom wood framed (approx. 30×36) $400 $350

“Athens Drive” – Oil on canvas, strip framed (approx. 36×36) $500 $450

“Amos Five 11” – Oil on canvas, custom wood framed (approx. 24×36) $400 $350

If you would like to buy any of these pieces (and remember HALF  of the proceeds goes directly to IJM, UMCOR, CharlotteONE, etc.!!) or commission one of your own, email me via the contact form on the right hand side of this page.

If you’d like to order prints of any of my MMA artwork, you can do so at https://jmsmith.org/about/art-of-the-dojo

Please share this with any of your friends or contacts who appreciate art, martial arts or making a difference in the world!

Blessings from the Dojo!

JM

PS: If you are a fighter or MMA personality who’d like me to do a charity portrait of you, PLEASE CONTACT ME! I’d love to get more fighters involved in the REAL FIGHT–combating human trafficking and the global sex-slave trade through IJM!
