Finally, a snowboard/ski retreat for adults!

I wanted to let everyone know about an amazing Snowboard/Ski retreat that we’re putting together for this coming January! Some of you I know are not interested, but you may know people who would be, so tell ’em about it! 🙂
I heard back from a number of people after sending out an initial interest gathering survey and we at Disciple Dojo have decided to offer a higher-end retreat in Colorado. (If you’ve never snowboarded/skied out west, you really can’t even begin to appreciate how amazing it is…particularly compared with East Coast mountains!)
The desire was to offer a trip that includes at least 3 full days on the mountain, as well as night skiing. Thus, Keystone was the natural choice! We also wanted to keep the cost to under $1000 total (this is what most people would spend on a week’s vacation that involved air travel anyway) and do it at a time when the slopes wouldn’t be too crowded. Adults work, and time off is a factor. Therefore, we opted to do a long weekend format where people would be back Sunday evening. That way, they would only need to take Wed.-Fri. off. Most people have at least 3 days vacation time saved up. Lastly, we decided on early in the season (January) because not only would the weather be nice and cold (making for some great conditions!), but also the prices are better.
So, if you are a working adult (21-99 years old!) who is looking for an adventure getaway, but one that includes in-depth Biblical teaching and Spiritual growth, this is the retreat for you! After all, why should high school and college kids get all the ski retreats?? 🙂

“Word in the Wild” – A Discipleship Retreat for Grown Ups!
Wed. January 19th – Sun. January 23rd
Keystone Mountain, Colorado
Study topic:
“The Summits of Scripture” – A look at the reoccurring theme of mountaintop events spanning the entire Biblical story and how they enable us to see God’s “Big Picture” throughout Scripture and where WE fit in to it! And what better place to study this than on the beautiful mountains of Summit County, Colorado?!
Trip includes:
- 3 Days/4 Nights lodging at Keystone Mountain less than a mile from the slopes
- 3 Day lift tickets
- Night skiing availability
- 4 Breakfasts
- 3 Lunches
- 3 Dinners (including one dinner out at a nearby restaurant)
- Snacks
- 4 study sessions led by JM
- Workbook & study materials
Total cost – $600 per person
(Does not include travel fare to Keystone or Snowboard/Ski equipment rentals)
- Due to the fluctuating costs of airfare and so that people can have the option of using any frequent flyer miles or other discounts, airfare is not included in the trip cost. As of right now, however, avg. cost of airfare to Denver + shuttle to Summit Co. is approx. $380.
- Likewise, since many, if not most, people attending have their own equipment, rental costs are not included.
- For those that have never snowboarded and would like to learn, or who have ridden before but just need some brushing up, morning private lessons from JM are available for an extra $50.
Space is limited to 12 people!
